The Public Interest Registry (PIR) is planning the final step to realizing full DNSSEC deployment in the .ORG registry: launching of signed delegations. This is the 90-day notification required to alert you that PIR is committed to the schedule of launching signed delegations in the first half of 2010, i.e., no sooner than 10 June 2010 and no later than 30 June 2010.
In June 2008, the PIR proposal to implement DNSSEC within the .ORG zone was unanimously approved by the board of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) after a thorough review by ICANN's Security and Stability Committee.
The Public Interest Registry successfully signed the .ORG zone file with DNSSEC on June 2, 2009. To date, the .ORG zone is the largest domain registry to deploy DNSSEC. As of June 2009, the trust anchor for .ORG is present in the IANA's Interim Trust Anchor Repository and ISC's DLV.
